Chiidoku asks you to place Chiikawas so every row, every column, and every color area contains one, while Chiikawas are not placed next to each other. Those four constraints come from the current English Roblox description. Apply them together: a cell is a candidate only when it can satisfy all four, not merely the color area that contains it.

Older pages indexed before the latest update claim that adjacent placements are allowed. That advice conflicts with the current developer-controlled description and should not guide a live board. The unresolved detail is directional: the public wording does not state whether “next to” means shared edges only or also diagonal contact. Use the current tutorial and placement feedback for that exact boundary.

The first three rules are explicit uniqueness constraints. The fourth is an exclusion constraint between placements. Together they create the Sudoku-like requirement that units receive exactly one marker and the Minesweeper-like caution that a locally tempting cell can invalidate nearby space.

How one placement changes the board

When you place a Chiikawa, close its row, close its column, close its color area, and eliminate every neighbor forbidden by the live adjacency rule. Then rescan the entire board. A color area that previously had several candidates may now have one. A row or column can become forced for the same reason.

Do not continue only inside the area you just solved. The strongest consequence may be across the board where the closed row intersects a different color. A disciplined rescan turns each confirmed placement into new information instead of a cue to guess again.

If the interface provides candidate marks, undo, highlighting, or error feedback, use its current behavior. Those controls are not documented publicly, and they may differ by device. The logic remains the same even when the input method changes.

Rule status and evidence

Official: row uniqueness

The current Roblox description states one Chiikawa in each row. This is safe to use on every advertised mode unless the creator announces a rule change.

Official: column uniqueness

The same description states one per column. Never keep a candidate in a column that already contains its placement.

Official: color-area uniqueness

Each color area receives one. Follow the area boundaries drawn by the live board rather than assuming equal shapes or sizes.

Official wording, live detail needed

No adjacent Chiikawas is current. The exact edge-versus-diagonal direction scope still needs a reproducible in-game check.

The description does not publish board dimensions, region counts, candidate controls, mistake penalties, or whether every mode uses an identical interface. Leave those fields to the board you are playing. A rule guide should not turn a thumbnail into a universal grid specification.

Resolve old advice before it costs a mistake

Some third-party pages written during the 300-level version say adjacent Chiikawas are legal. Current English Roblox text says the opposite. Because the official description and the level count both changed, the most plausible interpretation is that those pages reflect an earlier state or copied stale information. They are useful evidence that players encounter a conflict, not evidence for today’s rule.

Before a serious streak, test the current tutorial or a low-pressure board. Observe which neighboring cells the game blocks, marks, or rejects after a valid placement. Record the date and game update if you document the result. Do not generalize one diagonal or edge without testing the full set of directions that matters.

Read Adjacency Rule when that conflict is the reason you are stuck. It keeps the official statement separate from the direction detail that still requires live evidence.

A reliable solve loop

  1. List the rows, columns, and color areas already filled.
  2. Remove their cells from every remaining candidate set.
  3. Apply the live no-adjacency exclusion around each confirmed placement.
  4. Find any row, column, or color area with one candidate left.
  5. Confirm that candidate against all four constraints before placing it.
  6. Restart from step one after every placement.

When no single appears, compare candidate sets. If all candidates for one color area lie in the same row, that row must eventually receive the area’s Chiikawa, so other areas cannot rely on that row. Use the same reasoning with columns. Keep deductions reversible in your notes until the board itself confirms a placement.

What not to import from other puzzles

Chiidoku’s creator mentions Sudoku and Minesweeper as ingredients, but the published rules do not say to place digits, reveal numbered mines, flag bombs, or copy another game’s exact neighborhood definition. Use the stated Chiikawa constraints instead of importing a familiar interface.

Likewise, do not assume that a chess-queen puzzle’s adjacency rule applies exactly. “Cannot be placed next to each other” is the current result you must honor, but the directions need confirmation from Chiidoku itself. Similarity can suggest a question; it cannot answer it.

Campaign and Endless use the same public foundation

Campaign progresses through up to 400 stages, while Endless generates random puzzles with no level limit and increasing challenge. The public description does not announce a separate rule set for either. Begin with the same row-column-color-adjacency scan and watch the live mode for any additional instruction.

Difficulty can increase through region shapes, candidate interactions, or other board construction without changing the foundation. Do not invent a new constraint because a later puzzle feels different. Re-read the displayed tutorial or update information if the game actually introduces one.

Troubleshooting a disputed placement

If a cell looks legal but the game rejects it, check whether you overlooked a placement in the same row, column, or color area. Then inspect every direction the live game currently counts as adjacent. On a small screen, verify the color boundary and intended tap target.

If a guide says the cell should work, compare its date and quoted rule with the current experience description. A solved board from an older version may not demonstrate the current rule. Prefer a repeatable result in today’s game and keep any untested explanation labeled as such.
